Tughlakabad-Delhi-India-Ghiyasuddin Tughlak

Tughlakabad is so ignored by this vast city of New Delhi. The busy Mehrauli-Badarpur road touches this 700 year old abandoned city. Ghiyasudding Tughlak Emperor of the Delhi Kingdom, was cursed by Saint Nizamuddin Auliya for daring to steal some workers busy digging up a well for the poor. He said, 'Ya rahe Hissar, Ya rahe Gujjar:' It seemed innocuous but what the saint said was this city will only become succesful when Gypsies decide to settle down here. Gypsies not being of the settling kind this city is in ruins.

The ravages of time have crumbled the walls and left the city to one illegal settlement in housing starved Delhi.
